Awarding Gospel Artistes on their Excellent Performance
Collins Sampson

Collins Sampson is a Nigerian gospel Artist based in the United Kingdom. He is a multitalented Gospel Singer, Recording Artist, Song Writer, Music Producer and Director, a TV Presenter, Pianist and Worship Leader. Collins was introduced to music at the age of 8 when his talent was first discovered by his parents; he joined the mass choir at the same age and began playing the piano at the age of 10.

He studied Industrial chemistry at the University of Lagos. However, his deep conviction and passion for music made it inevitable that he would tow a path in this field.  He went on to study music at the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) and is currently studying at the Associated Board of Music UK (ABRSM).

In 2007 he founded his company ‘MSAM PRODUCTIONS’, which is the platform from where most of his laudable projects are being carried out. He is also a talk show host of GPlanet TV show in Nigeria / UK, a show designed to touch lives through music and inspiring interviews.

Collins has worked with notable Public Relations Advertising agencies to produce jingles, album projects, and soundtracks for TV adverts and films.  He has directed music in various churches in Nigeria and in the United Kingdom. From 2006-2008 he was one of the song teachers for the RCCG mass choir ‘Holy Ghost Congress.

Collins is passionate about writing and believes in singing from the heart what the Spirit of God is saying to the Church. He has written over 1,000 songs. Collins is mostly inspired and influenced by his Spiritual Father Bishop Theo Esene (Gospel Pavilion Inc Nigeria) Pastor Florence Enughwure and Pastor Gabriel Diya (UK) Mentor and Life coach.

In 1995, Collins led a group called the Priesthood, who was discovered and groomed by Praise Joe Nathaniel singing Accapella, alongside one of Nigeria’s famous Accapella group called the Ambassadors based in the United States.  He has also shared the same stage in concert with Dr Ron Kenoly, Uche Agu (Double Double) Gabriel Eziashi and several groups and artistes in and outside Nigeria. He won the Nigeria Association of Gospel Artists (NAGA) award in 1998 as the best group lead vocals. Has worked, and produced music with notable producers like Cobhams  Asuquo, Wole Oni, Ini D minstrel to mention but a few.

Collins has groomed so many choirs and groups as Music Director in and outside Nigeria such as Gospel Pavilion Inc, RCCG, Assemblies of God, TREM, Church of God Mission, The Priesthood, The Pillars, The Healers, Soul Tunes, amongst others. He organises live worship concerts with his team (Praise Channel) in different church venues and auditoriums with huge attendance where he leads many in praise and worship, touching lives for the Lord Jesus with his music ministry.

Collins believes music is universal; he however, stresses that the heart is what makes the Music. He also believes that worship is not a fast or slow song, praise is not an up-tempo song or medium groove song but it is the agreement of your heart with the truth of God’s word that you lift up as an offering to the Almighty. No matter how well you sing or the choice of song, worship does not become worship until God responds to it. When God responds, you have an opportunity to be as Paul says in Phil 3:10 “that I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his (presence) Sufferings”. Amplified version says “[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him, [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power out flowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]”.

Collins Debut Album titled ‘A New Me’ will be launched and available in Oct 2014, produced by multi-award winning Best Music Producer and Ambassador for peace, Wole Oni (WOMP).
